It's dorm food that I seek out whenever I visit my son. It's very good! The options are amazing and the place is clean and the service is pretty good. I enjoy this dining hall experience!

UCLA is ranked top for their dining foods and De Neve Commons is clear example of why they are rated that way. You can see workers constantly churning out fresh food so the food doesn't sit there for very long. Options, option, and more options everywhere. They even had non dairy milk options.
Parents are invited to join their students (provided they have extra swipes on their Bruin cards) for a meal or two.
It sort of reminded me of Las Vegas buffets where they have stations for different foods. Popular foods have longer lines while others have no lines.
I also observed how well behaved the students were. Everyone was very polite and even cleaned up after themselves. Go Bruins! -

Only been here a few times. Good food, sometimes long line, very spacious area. I like the salad bar.

The best dining hall at UCLA, imo. They just introduced blended burgers and they're so good! I always ask for the grilled chicken patty (just bc it's a healthier option and it tastes amazing)!
Don't get me started on the pizza either - I'm not usually a crust person but the crust is v good! I suggest getting the pizza right when it's put out because it tastes a million times better.
Because there are many (unhealthy) dessert options, I always pick up a salad. Again, I'm not a salad person but the toppings they have make the salad really good. Sometimes at the kitchen they have wings and those are my favorite things to eat. They're super flavorful!
They have an endless amount of desserts, and my favorite is the Congo/blondie brownie. It's like a brownie but lighter in color with nuts inside. -

De Neve is the closest dining hall at UCLA to the classic American-style cafeteria, but there are some twists. Typically college food is characterized by pizzas, burgers, fries, and maybe the occasional salad. De Neve does all that, but on another level.
De Neve's burgers and pizzas are definitely the best that I've ever had in a buffet. While, of course, they may fall short of some outside restaurants, they're pretty good! The burgers are juicy and customizable with quite a few options. The pizza, and they have a lot of variations instead of just the typical cheese and pepperoni, is freshly toasted and deliciously balanced - it's far from the typical microwaved pizza at other places. De Neve also includes a full salad bar featuring a wide selection of greens, dressings, and toppings.
